Middle School Programming

Extended Learning Program: Throughout the school year, Open Doors Academy operates an extended learning program Monday through Friday, from 3pm to 6pm. Our daily, direct-service programming includes project-based learning experiences that incorporate core academic standards while addressing the larger global issues that our youth face in their development from adolescence to adulthood.

Our programming model addresses four core areas including: character development, health and wellness, arts and culture, and global social education.

The goal of our middle school programming is to address those developmental barriers that inhibit the learning process, provide youth with a safe environment to explore their own interests, and open doors to opportunities that otherwise would not be available. In addition to our core learning model, youth are provided daily opportunities to complete their homework and receive academic support through small group evening tutoring.
